Bachelor's Degree in Geomatics Sciences

The curriculum consists of subjects related to Process Engineering, as well as fundamental subjects in petroleum refining and transformation.

At the end of this multidisciplinary training, graduates will have acquired sufficient theoretical and practical knowledge enabling them to assimilate a petroleum transformation process :

Curriculum

The curriculum focuses on the acquisition of geographic data, their preprocessing, management, and administration in the form of databases for subsequent exploitation, spatial analysis, and representation (particularly cartography), as well as their dissemination on all media, including the Internet. All of this is done in a professional context (environment, urban planning, risk management, development, construction, land use).

Basic Subjects :

Computer Science / Thematic Cartography / Remote Sensing / Geomatics / Computer-Aided Cartography / Topography...

The best students can continue their studies for a master's degree or an engineering degree.

General Presentation

The curriculum for the Geomatics bachelor's program aligns with the directions set by ESAT regarding education. It has been designed following a new framework for curriculum development, which requires the involvement of both workplaces and the education sector.

The curriculum is defined by competency, formulated by objectives, and structured into modules (Teaching Units).

It is designed based on a comprehensive approach that takes into account factors such as training needs, work situation, objectives, goals, as well as strategies and means to achieve the objectives.

In the curriculum, the minimum skills that the student must acquire to obtain their diploma are outlined and structured. This program should serve as a reference for the planning of training and learning, as well as for the preparation of teaching materials and assessment materials.

The duration of the program is six semesters (3 years), of which one portion is dedicated to acquiring skills directly related to mastering the tasks of the profession, while another is devoted to acquiring broader skills and general education (Language and Legislation).

The program is divided into 5 semesters and one internship semester (PFE), with a weekly workload of approximately 30 hours per week.

Specific Objectives

The graduates of this bachelor's degree program must acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the fields of topography, cadastral surveying, remote sensing, and GIS.

Graduates should have knowledge related to the fields of application of their geomatics expertise, such as urban planning, urban and rural development, cadastral surveying, environment, and sustainable development.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this Bachelor's degree program, graduates will be competent to :

  • Identify the socio-economic and environmental challenges in rural or mountainous areas.
  • Communicate geographic data once collected, structured, and represented, to one or multiple stakeholders.
  • Develop plans and publishing maps.
  • Conduct surveys aimed at identifying the needs and challenges of the territory.
  • Identify the risks and tourist activities in the mountains.
  • Process and analyze geographical information using computer tools.
  • Participate in the production of urban planning documents and web dissemination.
